48 Hrs IN NYC

48 Hrs IN NYC

Shaka Wear wraps up NYC in 48 hours, seeing what it has to offer in the name of streetwear.
Hopped on a plane and touched down in New York, and the first move? Straight to the bodega for a chopped cheese, mandatory. The city wastes no time. From the jump, the way people talk out here hits different, stern to the point. It’s raw, and at first, it threw us off. But that’s New York. You ask, they answer. Straight up. What took me back was how people move. It’s 7 am, and folks are stepping into corner stores dressed down. Every block has a new vibe, a new look, a different type of energy. You can’t help but get caught up in it.
But we didn’t come empty-handed. We brought some of that LA flavor with us, laid-back, expressive, effortless. We linked with people, soaked in the contrast, and captured what makes both coasts unique. Style, presence, and culture. It all showed up in the lens.

We posted up in the Lower East Side, classic and full of soul. The kind of place where the streets talk back, and every corner holds its own. No productions, just the city as it is. We stuck to what we know, the streets. Letting the vibe lead the way, cameras out, eyes open. From murals to deli windows, we wanted to capture the raw essence of the city, everything felt like a story, and we captured it.

Our last day came quick, and we ended up at the park. Caught a pickup game. Balling up with locals. It was one of those unexpected moments that stamped the trip. We didn’t plan it like that, but somehow, it felt meant to be. The people we crossed paths with, the places we ended up, the way the light hit the buildings right before we left, it all tied together. Intentional or not, it was a full-circle moment. East Coast edition. That shit went hard
